Cryo Technician
** job title**: Cryogenic Systems Maintenance Technician
Purpose and Scope
Conducts periodic maintenance, reconstitution, storage, and deployment of cryogenic assets in alignment with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and USAAF requirements. Ensures efficiency, customer satisfaction, compliance with PWS, and adherence to Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
Essential Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety:
- Adheres to all company standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, USAF Technical Orders (T اسرpaneldet الفيس scarcelyرICESسGSستسS), industrial safety, and environmental policies.
- Participates in maintenance, shop safety, and related trainings.

Cryogenic Equipment Maintenance:
- Performs periodic maintenance, reconstitution, and storage of cryogenic assets (e.g., LOX, LIN tanks).
- Inspects/evaluates assets and equipment components (e.g., cryotainers, transfer conduits, valves) to identify defective parts.
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs necessary repairs to ensure equipment remains mission-ready.
- Conducts calibration of cryogenic gauges and hydrostatic testing of liquid manifolds.

Corrosion Control & Deployment:
- Applies corrosion control (sanding, cleaning, priming, painting, preservation materials).
- Prepares cryogenic assets for deployment following established procedures.

Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintains accurate records including time sheets, work orders, and maintenance logs.
- Inventories hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and coordinates proper disposal per regulatory requirements.

Physical Operations:
- Operates Material Handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, 4K/10K forklifts).
- Ensures cleanliness of work environments (inside and outside).

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Education/Training:
- Completion of formal cryogenics equipment maintenance training.
- 1–3 years’ experience in cryogenic equipment maintenance, ground support, or equivalent field work.
- Level 3 English proficiency (written/spoken) to understand technical publications.

Licensing/Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate commercial vehicles/material handling tools (e.g., forklifts).
- US Citizenship (requirement for Public Trust clearance).
- Completion of Appendix J: Cryotainer Maintenance Course (J3AZR2F051 05AA) and SEI 036 award.
- Authorized to work in host country.

Technical Proficiencies:
- Experience with DPAS (inventory system) and Maximo (maintenance/work orders).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation.
- Ability to lift/push/pull minimum 50 lbs and operate heavy-duty equipment.

- Eligible and able to maintain Public Trust U.S. Government clearance.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Shop Environment:
- Moderately lit, heated, and ventilated but exposed to:
- Disagreeable fumes
- Cuts/ bruises from machinery/tools
- Hazards (forklifts, sweepers)
- Extreme heat/vibration
Physical Tasks:
- Frequently required to: stand, reach, catwalk, stoop, kneel, or work in tiring/uncomfortable positions.
- Occasionally: sit, climb, balance, taste/smell (noise exposure).
- Migrane E xposured to wet, humid, cold, precarious heights, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock risk.

Safety & ergonomic requirements:
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per tasks.
- Capable of operating in hazardous settings with live equipment.
