Cryptography and PKI Security Specialist
Salary circa £55,000
Location: Sheffield or Norwich
This is a great job for someone who enjoys working at the heart of cyber security and wants to play a key role in protecting critical services through encryption, key management and cryptographic controls.
You'll thrive in this role if you have experience supporting PKI services, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), cryptographic operations, and you're looking to grow your expertise within a large, complex organisation
Join Aviva's Cyber Protection Services team and help keep our customers, colleagues and business secure.
As a Cryptography and PKI Specialist, you'll be responsible for governing and managing Aviva's encryption capabilities, including our PKI Lifecycle management and automation, key management platform, and HSM estate.
You'll act as a subject matter expert for cryptographic services, helping maintain secure, reliable operations while identifying and reducing cyber risks.
Working closely with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders across the business, you'll help ensure our security controls are effective, resilient and ready for the future.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Experience working within a cryptographic operations, cyber security or information security environment, including cryptographic key handling processes
- Knowledge of key ceremonies, segregation of duties and split knowledge principles
- Experience managing PKI services using a Certificate Lifecycle Management platform, including certificate automation
- Experience working with Thales technologies, including HSM lifecycle management and Cipher Trust Manager
- Good understanding of cyber security standards, frameworks and security incident response, alongside strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Salary Circa £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's
