The Opportunity
Amentum is the Design and Engineering Partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects.
We are recruiting high-value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to foster a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering:

The Role: Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineering Capability Lead
We are seeking a ** talented individual** (ideally based in Warrington or Whitehaven but open to other locations with commitment to regular travel to client offices) to join our experienced CS&A Engineering team, reporting to the PPP Head of Engineering Capability and Assurance.

You will be key to developing the long-term CS&A Engineering capability across the framework and ensuring a skilled workforce is available to meet mission-critical project delivery needs. Your work will also contribute to a strategically important national programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead risk-based technical assurance for CS&A aspects of project delivery while collaborating closely with other PPP Engineering Capability Leads.
- Review the engineering elements of major project business cases, supporting client and government funding requests.
- Functional leadership of the CS&A capability across all PPP projects including:
- Supporting recruitment, capability assessment, retention, learning, and professional development.
- Building a diverse and inclusive engineering community.
- Be the primary point of contact with the client’s Chief CS&A Engineer.
- Capture and share lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement across the entire portfolio.
- Collaborate within the PPP partnership to deliver on published critical success factors and realise client benefits.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude with:
- A passion for technical excellence.
- Ability to align and engage stakeholders for a shared mission.
- Commitment to an open and inclusive team environment, including:
- Active listening, valuing diverse perspectives, sharing knowledge, and addressing challenges constructively.
- Effectively building relationships and coordinating solutions in response to emerging issues.
- Open-minded, curious, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Staying updated with evolving codes, standards, and best practices to position PPP as a leader in project excellence.
- Prior expertise and understanding of the nuclear industry and the UK regulatory framework.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status with the UK Engineering Council (or equivalent).
