CT Technologist: Radiology Diagnostic Position Details:
$15,000 sign-on bonus for experienced candidates
- Schedule: Full-time, day shift
- Hours: Saturday, Sunday & Monday (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Specialization: General X-Ray & on-call rotations

Perform complex diagnostic imaging tasks using high-radiation CT scanners. Responsible for ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines.

Technical & Diagnostic Duties
- Perform CT scans under physician orders for diagnostic therapy and intervention.
- Operate computed tomography systems, gating devices, and contrast enhancement tools.
- Adhere to established imaging protocols while adjusting dose parameters per ACR & AAPM guidelines.
- Evaluate image quality; post-process scans; document and transfer to PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System).
- Assist radiologists in developing new CT protocols and techniques.
Patient Care & Safety
- Screen patients for radiation safety risks; obtain medical history and secure consents.
- Educate and minimize patient anxiety during procedures (e.g., infant/pediatric patients).
- Position patients correctly using immobilization devices while maintaining safety.
- Administer IV/oral/rectal contrast as required; perform contrast injection control.
- Assess and manage medications as prescribed; conduct appropriate venipuncture and lab draws.
Support & Training
- Collaborate with radiologists in advanced procedures (biopsies, etc.) and time-out procedures.
- Coordinate patient scheduling & hospital workflow with clerical responsibilities.
- Manage inventory control and assist new staff with onboarding & training.
- Mentor student technologists and maintain annual continuing education.

Compliance & Safety
- Uphold BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; perform BLS as required.
- Follow hospital policies, radiation safety, and infection prevention standards.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and set performance goals.
Qualifications
Licensure & Certification
Must be certified by one of the following:
Pathway 1:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) → Within 1 year, ARRT (CT) requirement.
Pathway 2:
- Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMTCB) certification → Within 1 year, ARRT (CT) requirement.
Pathway 3:
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) → Within 1 year, ARRT (CT) requirement.
Education & Experience
- Successful completion of accredited educational programs (JRCERT, ARRT-approved).
- Technical experience welding towards full licensure preferred.
