ROLE SUMMARY:

Location: Remote, UK (please note, while this is a fully remote position, candidates must be willing to work from the UK in order to be considered)

Start date: 1 September 2026

Contract: Fixed Term (5 months)

Working Pattern: Full-time

Salary: £34,000 - £39,000

King's InterHigh (KIH) is launching a new asynchronous learning product: a self-paced study offer spanning iGCSE and International A-Level courses. This is an opportunity to help shape a modern digital learning experience from the ground up — combining strong subject teaching, thoughtful curriculum design, and smart use of technology to support learners wherever and whenever they study.

We are hiring Self-Paced Curriculum Designers on a fixed-term basis to design, write, and build the courses — shaping the curriculum, authoring the subject content, and designing it for self-paced, online delivery. You will take the relevant iGCSE or International A-Level specification and turn it into a complete, exam-aligned course that learners can work through independently, using video, assessment, feedback, and interactive digital resources to make learning clear, engaging, and purposeful. This role is about building on strong existing subject knowledge and trusted school materials, then reimagining them for a more flexible, technology-enabled model of learning.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

These are fixed-term contracts tied to course delivery, with courses to be delivered across two phases — January 2027 and September 2027.

This is a hands-on creation role with real ownership: you will help define what excellent self-paced online learning looks like for KIH, bringing together pedagogy, digital tools, media, assessment, and learner experience into courses that feel coherent, high-quality, and genuinely useful for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write the course content

    • Review, adapt, and develop existing materials to design a fully self-paced curriculum for learners
    • Author lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities, and assessments to the agreed template, structure, and quality standards.
    • Write to the relevant iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and mark schemes, ensuring content is accurate, complete, and exam-aligned.
    • Design a mixture of assessment — some that suits self-paced learners, with auto-marked and self-checking questions giving learners instant feedback, alongside key pieces throughout the course that deliver teacher-based feedback.
  • Build it for self-paced delivery

    • Structure and sequence content for independent, self-paced learners with low teacher contact — using chunking, scaffolding, retrieval practice, and purposeful digital interactions to keep learners moving, thinking, and motivated without a live teacher.
    • Build courses within school systems to the agreed template and brand, using the available technology to create a polished, consistent learner journey.
    • Build a suite of multi-modal resources to bring courses to life — video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools, knowledge checks, and other digital learning assets — alongside the written material.
    • Make content accessible and inclusive to all — SEND-aware, readable, with alt text and WCAG considerations applied.
  • Deliver to schedule and standard

    • Work to a production schedule, hitting agreed milestones for each course on a delivery-linked contract.
    • Submit drafts for editorial / QA review and sign-off, and revise efficiently on feedback.
    • Understand the constraints around correct licensing and developing IP — using third-party content legally and creating compliant, properly owned material that IOS can continue to use long-term.
