We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Curriculum Lead to join our Health & Social Care (16-18) team supporting Level 3 students mainly. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to play a key role in supporting the leadership and development of a thriving curriculum area, ensuring high-quality provision and excellent learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Curriculum in the strategic and operational management of the department
  • Lead and coordinate curriculum teams to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality programmes
  • Support curriculum design, planning, and unit selection within designated subject areas
  • Support curriculum teams in the development and implementation of schemes of work
  • Assist with operational staffing arrangements, including reporting staff absence and arranging cover
  • Liaise with awarding organisations, external verifiers, and examination teams
  • Lead and support Internal Verification and quality assurance activities
  • Support learner recruitment, induction, progression, and UCAS processes

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Degree and/or relevant professional qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject
  • Certificate in Education or other relevant Level 5 teaching qualification
  • Proven experience as an outstanding teaching practitioner with strong learner achievement outcomes
  • Experience of teaching within Further Education, including A Levels and/or vocational qualifications
  • Experience of curriculum planning, development, and quality improvement
  • Strong understanding of learner progress, achievement, and performance monitoring
  • Experience of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), Internal Verification, or standardisation activities is desirable
  • Good understanding of progression routes, careers pathways, and developments within Further Education
