Join our London-based Further Education team as a Curriculum Manager and lead the development and delivery of outstanding, industry-relevant programmes that inspire and prepare students for success.


About the Role

As a Curriculum Manager for A Level Humanities, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic objectives while ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and learner experience across our Humanities curriculum (covering A Levels in History, Politics, Law, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Economics, Business, and future V-Levels) and associated services.


Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Curriculum Development & Delivery:

    • Leading the creation and ongoing enhancement of outstanding educational provision.
    • Designing, planning, and delivering high-quality, learner-focused curriculum programmes.
    • Ensuring alignment with Awarding Body requirements (Edexcel, AQA, OCR).
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Working cross-departmentally to implement innovative and inclusive practices.
    • Line-managing 14 staff members, supporting their professional development.
    • Promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:

    • Managing compliance with funding regulations and quality assurance processes.
    • Contributing to internal and external audits, inspections (including Ofsted), and quality reviews.
    • Ensuring data is used effectively to improve learner attendance, retention, and progression.
  • Resource & Financial Management:

    • Overseeing budgets and resources to guarantee cost-effective, high-impact delivery.
    • Ensuring operational oversight in line with senior leadership objectives.

Requirements & Essentials

Key Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for a senior educational leader with the following qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
  • Leadership training (or a commitment to pursue this).
  • Proven experience teaching AT least one A Level from:
    • History, Politics, Law, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Economics, or Business.
  • Minimum 3+ years leading a department or curriculum area in Further Education (FE).

  • Curriculum Expertise: Deep knowledge of Humanities subjects, assessment methods, and Awarding Body criteria.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Using learner analytics to drive improvements.
  • Compliance & Quality Mindset: Familiarity with FDLE, funding regulations, and inspection standards (Ofsted, Quality Assurance).
  • Sound Financial Judgement: Ability to manage budgets, resources, and cost-effective programme delivery.
  • Adaptability: Commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience collaborating with external partners (awarding bodies, employers, HE partners).
