Role Overview

Pinnacle Group is looking for a Custody/Police Station Cleaner to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness across custody and police station areas. Helping to ensure a safe, clean and professional environment for staff, visitors and service users. You will be joining our Blue Light Facilities Management Cleaning Team based at the Birchin Way Custody Suite – Grimsby DN31.

Job Details

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Custody/Police Station Cleaner to provide maternity cover for a 12-month period, starting in August 2026.

  • Super flexible and reactive, working a minimum of 20 hours per week (there will be at least 2 months' cover when it will be 40 hours).
  • Shifts will include days, weekends, and evenings to meet the needs of the site.
  • Earliest start will be 7am, and the latest finish will be 8pm.
  • Opportunity to work on a permanent contract across other Grimsby-based police stations (to be discussed at the interview stage).

Who We’re Looking For

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general and deep cleaning duties across designated areas, including custody suites, cells, interview rooms, offices, washrooms, welfare areas, and communal spaces.
  • Clean floors, surfaces, fixtures, and high-touch areas to required standards.
  • Empty bins, restock supplies, and ensure cleaning equipment is used and stored safely.
  • Adhere to strict protocols regarding health and safety guidance, biohazards, infection control, and contamination at all times.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE/uniforms are always used during working hours.
  • Take instructions and advice from the Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual cleaning tasks with the knowledge of colour coding, manual handling, COSHH & Health & Safety.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team and be able to demonstrate initiative.
  • Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and varied shifts on a rota basis.
  • The appointment for this role will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Check.
  • You must have resided in the UK for the last 3 years.
