Customer Account Manager

Location: Derbyshire (Office-based with occasional UK travel)
Salary: £40-50K + Benefits

We're working with a growing UK technology company operating within the defence and national security sector.

Following continued growth, they're looking to appoint their first dedicated Customer Account Manager. This is a newly created position that offers the opportunity to build and shape how customer relationships are managed across the business.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, you'll become the trusted point of contact for a portfolio of key customers, ensuring they're supported throughout their journey while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and grow existing accounts.

This isn't a high-volume sales role. It's about developing genuine customer partnerships, understanding customer challenges and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You'll have the autonomy to make the role your own while helping introduce new customer engagement processes and systems that will support the company's ambitious growth plans.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, becoming their primary commercial contact.
  • Build long-term relationships through regular communication and proactive account management.
  • Understand customer objectives, challenges and future requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and introduce additional products and services.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate customer requests across engineering, operations and leadership teams.
  • Keep customers informed on project progress, delivery timelines and commercial activity.
  • Capture customer feedback and share valuable market insight across the business.
  • Help implement new CRM processes and customer management best practices.
  • Ensure opportunities, actions and follow-ups are accurately tracked and completed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
