About the role
Are you passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Account Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time permanent position working on-site at our Sheffield site and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £34,000 along with a structured development plan that includes training, mentorship, and clear opportunities for career growth within our organisation.
You'll be the friendly, reliable voice our customers turn to - managing their expectations, keeping them in the loop on performance, and making sure their returns are handled quickly, accurately and without fuss. Behind the scenes, you'll work hand-in-hand with our Transport, Planning and Client Relationship teams to keep everything ticking along smoothly.

No two days will look the same: one minute you could be digging into the numbers behind a customer's returns performance, the next you're on the phone sorting a stock query or spotting a smarter way to do things.
- Being the main point of contact for your customers, building relationships that go beyond the transactional
- Keeping customers in the loop through regular meetings, site visits and calls
- Turning returns data into clear, useful monthly reports on performance, KPIs and trends
- Coordinating with Transport and logistics partners to keep returns moving smoothly, in and out
- Keeping stock records accurate and customers updated on where things stand
- Getting to the bottom of stock discrepancies and putting them right
- Making sure charges and invoicing are accurate and on time
- Spotting opportunities to grow and improve the service you offer
- Being a go-to source of support for colleagues on customer-specific returns queries
- Working with planning teams to keep returns volumes forecasted and on schedule
- Digging into trends to fix root causes, not just symptoms
- Keeping stock control watertight, from the moment goods arrive to final reconciliation
- Making sure everything you do stacks up against quality, environmental and regulatory standards
What we need from you
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Confident with Microsoft Office and comfortable pulling data from IT systems
- A drive to hit KPIs, paired with a genuinely positive, can-do attitude
- A team player who's just as comfortable building relationships externally as internally
- Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to make decisions
- Sharp attention to detail and a clear, confident communicator
- Honesty, integrity, and a genuine empathy for the customer experience

It would also be great (but not essential) if you have:
- 3PL returns experience, ideally across a multi-client operation
- Experience in a customer service returns environment
- Warehouse returns process experience
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) solutions
