Customer Accounts Senior Administrator
Bristol | Full-time | Shared Service Centre (SSC)
Are you a detail-driven finance professional who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and supporting others to succeed? We’re looking for a Customer Accounts Senior Administrator to play a key role within our UK Customer Accounts function. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior operational role, where your expertise, initiative, and customer-focused mindset will make a real impact.
About the Role
As a Customer Accounts Senior Administrator, you’ll provide excellent customer service, guidance, and support to both internal and external customers, while ensuring transactional accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across the function. You’ll take ownership of non-standard requests and escalations, support automation and efficiency initiatives, and act as a point of reference and mentor for administrators across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Process all transactional activities accurately through the relevant workflow tools
- Ensure compliance with defined processes and controls, driving efficiency and corrective actions where required
- Take ownership of and resolve non-standard requests, complex queries, and escalations
- Allocate cash receipts and manage customer account transactions
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts
- Optimise use of the YAMBS automation tool
- Log, track, and clear invoice queries within SSC remit and support resolution across other business lines
- Identify root causes of issues and implement process improvements
- Support and train administrators where required
- Work accurately within agreed SLAs on a right-first-time basis
- Maintain high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and data accuracy
- Ensure appropriate records are maintained to enable accurate reporting
- Support departmental and wider SSC initiatives and personal development
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve performance targets
- Support the Team Lead with departmental change and innovation
- Undertake additional tasks as requested by the Team Lead or SSC senior management

Financial & Non-Financial Accountabilities
Across the UK Customer Accounts function, you will be responsible for:
- High-volume transactional processing requiring strong technical expertise
- Resolving escalated queries from administrators
- Identifying root causes and implementing sustainable process improvements
About You
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in transactional finance or customer accounts
- Confident handling escalations and complex issues
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and confidence supporting and training others
- Comfortable working in a controlled environment with SLAs and compliance requirements
