Location: Hybrid/March, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £38,623 - £45,005 per annum

Hours: 36 per week

Contract Type: Permanent

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Customer Accounts professional with leadership experience, or someone ready to take the next step into a team leadership role, to build on their expertise while making a real difference to customers.

About the Role

As a Customer Accounts Team Leader, you'll lead a team of Customer Account Specialists, supporting them to deliver effective, compliant services that underpin the Group's income management approach. You'll play a key role in maximising rent collection while helping to minimise financial hardship for our customers through a fair, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching, developing, and motivating your team to achieve their full potential
  • Managing performance, providing regular feedback, and addressing underperformance where necessary
  • Setting clear objectives, monitoring progress, and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Ensuring your team has the skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellent outcomes
  • Driving high performance while supporting the ongoing development of the service

Requirements

  • Experience of leading, motivating, or developing others
  • Strong background in income management, debt recovery, credit control, or a similar customer accounts environment
  • Proven track record of improving team and service performance while balancing commercial objectives with excellent customer service
  • Sound understanding of rent arrears management, relevant legislation, court processes, policies, and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, Welfare Reform, and the impact these have on customers

This is a hybrid role with a base location at our office in March. Candidates will be expected to work flexibly between the office and home in line with business needs.
