Customer Advisor
Customer Advisor – Part Time
Overview
- Part-time position available for 18 or 22.5 hours per week
- Permanent contract
- Shifts: Monday to Sunday, 7:00am – 8:00pm
- Location: B&Q Peterborough
- Salary: £13.10 per hour (UK notional hourly rate)
About the Role
We empower customers to improve their homes and make life better. As a Customer Advisor, you’ll be the face of our store—a trusted advisor and key inspiration behind customers' home improvement projects.
Every day, you’ll guide customers with expert advice, raise sales, manage stock, set up visually appealing displays, and ensure our store always looks its best. You’ll receive tailored training in areas such as paint-mixing and timber cutting—but most importantly, you’ll excel in great customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultations to customers on projects large and small
- Drive sales through tailored advice and product recommendations
- Organise and maintain in-store stock, including displays and merchandising
- Build strong relationships with customers, becoming their go-to guide for home improvement
- Stay updated on new products, technology, and best practices
- Assist in customer-focused tasks such as paint-mixing and basic timber cutting (where applicable)
- Contribute to a positive store environment that reflects quality and expertise

- Flexible, comfortable with working shifts including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays
