Customer & Trading Manager
About the Role
- Working closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs like clockwork every day.
- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often being the only manager on duty with accountability for the full shop.
- Working alongside a team to complete all tasks, ensuring our customers are served efficiently and safely.
- A significant part of the role involves people management, including managing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring scheduling and pay accuracy.
- In larger store networks, support may be required to assist other stores occasionally.

Key Responsibilities & Qualities:
- Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Provides outstanding customer service and coaches a team to match.
- Delivers Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or other performance metrics.
- Capable of managing disciplinaries, performance issues, or other employee relations matters.
- Leading operational roles confidently, even independently when senior management is absent.
Essential Criteria
- A strong track record of delivering brilliant customer service and mentoring colleagues to do the same.
- Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment—motivating others, driving performance, and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Operational leadership skills—having taken responsibility for store operations autonomously when senior management is unavailable.
- Demonated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs, contributing measurable outcomes in sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement.
- Managed employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
