Nightshift Manager – Store Leadership Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team overnight to execute all replenishment activities, including:
    • Prioritising supplies and inventory
    • Organising the warehouse against schedules
    • Shelving and stock replenishment
  • Operate as a single-night manager, overseeing the full shift independently, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and performance of nightshift colleagues.
  • Uphold excellence in standards to guarantee morning readiness and seamless start-of-shift operations.
  • Manage employee performance, capability, scheduling accuracy, and fair payroll systems.
  • Conduct disciplinaries as necessary while fostering a supportive team environment.

Shift & Compensation

  • Work full-time hours across 4 nights per week (typically 22:00–08:00).
  • Receive a £4,500 premium per annum in addition to base salary.

What Makes a Great Nightshift Manager?

  • Adaptable and energised by night work, understanding the physical and mental demands and ensuring a safe, inclusive team environment.
  • Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational setting with leadership accountability.
  • Demonstrates resilience to thrive under both mental pressure and physical intensity.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service and coaches teams in high standards.
  • Skilled in creating/monitoring KPIs, using data to measure operational success.
  • Proficient in handling employer relations, including disciplinary procedures and performance coaching.
  • Capable of operating autonomously in an unsupported capacity, leading operations independently.
  • Advocates for diversity and inclusion as core principles of team leadership.

Essential Criteria

✔ Customer service excellence – Evidence of exceeding standards and coaching others in the practice. ✔ Operational team leadership – Successfully led teams in high-volume, customer-facing roles, ensuring smooth operations. ✔ Self-directed operations – steered store operations solo beyond immediate supervision frameworks. ✔ KPI measurement experience – Proven impact on key performance indicators (sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement). ✔ Employee relations management – Hauled discipline or absence management processes appropriately.

Desirable: ✔ Previous nightshift experience – Adaptability to overnight demands and fostering a healthy team atmosphere during unsociable hours.
