Customer and Trading Manager - Nightshift
Night Shift Manager – Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Lead a team overnight to deliver replenishment activities across the store, prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse, and restocking shelves.
- Frequently manage full store operations alone, ensuring responsibility for shift safety, wellbeing, and performance.
- Uphold high standards for stock, store operations, and customer experience to ensure readiness for the next day.
- Oversee people management, including:
- Coaching and developing team performance
- Addressing disciplinary and capability concerns
- Ensuring accurate scheduling and payroll
Hours & Compensation
- Full-time shifts: 4 nights per week (typically 22:00–08:00)
- Salary premium: £4,500 additional to base pay

A successful candidate will:
- Be comfortable and resilient in nightshift environments, understanding the physical and mental demands while prioritising a safe, healthy team atmosphere.
- Represent experience in line management, particularly in fast-paced operational settings.
- Demonstrate customer service excellence and the ability to coach team members to deliver the same.
- Have hands-on experience with KPI monitoring, performance tracking, or operational metrics.
- Be capable of handling employee relations (disciplinary actions, performance concerns, corrective measures).
- Lead operations independently without senior oversight.
- Actively promote inclusivity in all aspects of their role.
Essential Criteria
To apply, you must have:
- A track record of delivering outstanding customer service and training others to match (or exceed) standards.
- Leader of a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing operational environment, including:
- Motivating and driving performance
- Managing operations independently when senior leaders are absent
- Proven ability to meet or exceed KPIs (sales, stock availability, service recovery, team engagement, etc.) with a quantifiable impact.
- Experience dealing with employee relations, including:
- Performance appraisals
- Absence management

- Experience working overnight shifts in a high-volume, high-demands environment, with adaptability to the challenges and evidence of fostering a supportive team culture during off-hours trading.
