Online Department Manager – Strategic Leadership in Retail

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Management of Online Operations:
- Plan and coordinate the online picking and delivery team to guarantee seamless execution of the in-store online service.
- Oversee early-morning operations (04:00–08:00) to efficiently fulfil delivery orders.

Leadership & Team Engagement:
- Set a visible example by coaching, mentoring, and inspiring large teams of shoppers and drivers, fostering a safe and seamless shopping experience for both online and in-store customers.
- Collaborate closely with other managers to enhance store-wide shopping experience standards.

People Management:
- Develop and lead a team through performance and capability management, including handling disciplinaries, ensuring accurate scheduling, and managing payroll.

Essential Criteria
To thrive in this role, you must demonstrate:
- Line Management Experience:
- Proven track record in fast-paced, operational environments, including hands-on team leadership.
- Customer Focus & Coaching:
- Record of delivering exceptional customer service and guiding teams to match this standard.
- Performance-Driven Leadership:
- Consistently meet or exceed KPIs (e.g., sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement).
- Operational Autonomy:
- Experience taking responsibility for store operations when senior managers are unavailable.
- Employee Relations:
- Handled performance, absence management, or disciplinary issues professionally and effectively.
