Customer Assistant – Lidl

✨ Overview

Salary: £13.45 - £14.45 per hour Contract hours: 30-hour weekly contract Shift patterns: Mix of morning & evening shifts, flexible weekends Holidays: 30–35 days (pro rata) Benefits:

As a Customer Assistant, you’ll deliver outstanding retail skills: restocking shelves, operating tills, maintaining store hygiene, and supporting both colleagues and shoppers with a smile.


### About the Role

At Lidl, no two shifts are the same. Your responsibilities bridge customer service, operational efficiency, and specialist knowledge:

  • Bakery care: Proactively replenish fresh goods to ensure quality.
  • Non-Food mastery: Merchandise and tidy middle aisles effectively.
  • Delivery mensuration: Work efficiently with incoming shipments.
  • Customer advocacy: Expertly guide shoppers with queries, product advice, and friendly assistance.

### Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

  • Assisting customers with product queries and requests across all store sections
  • Handling deliveries with precision and teamwork
  • Officiating till operations to streamline checkout processes
  • Hitting-enlisting bakery teamwork: Stocking fresh bakes daily
  • Curating well-organised displays for Non-Food & middle aisles
  • Maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Supporting team morale and collaborative problem-solving

### Requirements

Ideal candidates will offer:

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment
  • Strong customer service skills—anticipate needs and resolve issues smoothly
  • Flexibility: Ability to adjust shift timings (e.g., early starts/late finishes as needed)
  • Tolerance for dynamic priorities and problem-solving
  • Drive to exceed expectations—owning store success through hard work and teamwork
  • A friendly demeanour, enthusiastic approach, and genuine smile to inspire others
