Customer Assistant

Customer Assistant (30-hour contract) – Lidl

£13.45 per hour | Various shifts | 30-35 days’ holiday (pro rata) | 10% in-store discount | Pension scheme


About the Role

As a Customer Assistant, your role is varied and dynamic. You’ll:

  • Restock shelves
  • Operate tills
  • Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-organised
  • Provide top-notch service to every customer

You’ll train, grow, and earn, with opportunities to specialise—whether as a Freshness, Non-Food, or Bakery Specialist.


What You’ll Do

  • Advising customers – Be the go-to expert for shoppers’ questions.
  • Handling deliveries – Efficiently manage orders as they arrive.
  • Empowering customer service – Deliver exceptional support every shift.
  • Fresh bakery duties – Proactively replenish and bake fresh goods.
  • Merchandising Non-Food products – Maintain and optimise middle-aisle displays.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and manner.
  • Flexibility to start shifts early or finish late as needed.
  • An adaptable attitude to changing priorities.
  • Passion and drive to excel in retail.

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive pay:
    • Base rate: £13.45 per hour
    • £2.00 extra per hour for bank holidays
    • £3.50 extra per hour for night shifts
