About the Role
Join Marks & Spencer (M&S) as a Customer Assistant in our Fashion, Home & Beauty sections, where you’ll ensure exceptional customer service and drive sales in one of the UK’s leading luxury-ish retailers.
This isn’t just another retail job—it’s an energetic, high-demand frontline role for people who thrive under pressure, love fashion, and want to deliver a seamless shopping experience. You’ll help customers discover the latest trends, act as a brand ambassador, and contribute to our transformation into the new M&S.

Work Pattern
Your schedule will alternate weekly to ensure smooth store operations, with shifts designed to cover peak demand:

Key Responsibilities
✔ Customer Service & Identification – Offer five-star service and fashion advice with confidence, ensuring every shopping experience is memorable. ✔ Sales Focus – Drive growth in the Fashion, Home & Beauty divisions by identifying fashion trends and promoting top selling products. ✔ Digital Integration – Use M&S digital tools, including the Sparks App and in-store devices, to enhance efficiency and improve the omnichannel experience. ✔ Execution Under Pressure – Work in a dynamic environment where high demand calls for speed, accuracy, and standards, no matter how busy. ✔ Team Collaboration – Foster a positive store environment, supporting team members to deliver energy and purpose throughout the shift. ✔ Flexibility & Adaptability – Move between tasks and areas as needed to ensure seamless service in a ever-changing retail landscape.
Requirements
This is not a role for passive candidates—we want people who are: 🔹 Realistically ambitious – Enthusiastic about driving sales growth in a fast-paced environment. 🔹 Fashion-forward – Passionate about the latest trends and ready to promote M&S’s seasonal collection. 🔹 Digital-savvy – Comfortable using digital platforms (e.g., disposable devices***, omnis Kell* tools, and point-of-sale solutions). 🔹 Resilient under pressure – Able to maintain performance and attitude, even during peak demand. 🔹 A strong team player – Willing to collaborate, uplift others, and contribute to a clearing and supportive workplace. 🔹 Flexible & resourceful – Open to working alternating shifts, including evenings/weekends, and adapting to last-minute requests.
