Work Pattern

Part-time rotating shifts:

  • Monday: 13:00 – 17:00
  • Thursday: 13:00 – 17:00
  • Friday: 13:00 – 17:00
  • Saturday: 13:00 – 17:00

About the Role

Join Marks & Spencer (M&S) as a Customer Assistant in our fast-growing Food section – where every interaction helps deliver exceptional service and drives sales.

We’re looking for down-to-earth, resilient professionals who can:

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Be the frontline ambassador for M&S Food products, helping customers find what they need.
  • Provide friendly, efficient service to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
  • Recommend and sell new and existing products, boosting sales growth.

Operational & Team Roles

  • Fill shelves, organise stock, and maintain store presentation.
  • Lift, carry, and move products (physical demands apply).
  • Support colleagues in maintaining high standards across all store functions.

Digital & Efficiency

  • Use M&S digital tools (Sparks POS, in-store sales devices) to streamline transactions.
  • Enquire and resolve customer service requests quickly and professionally.

Flexibility & Adaptability

  • Be ready to work across multiple store sections as needed.
  • Operate in high-pressure situations, staying focused even at our busiest times.

Requirements

  • Proven customer service skills – able to handle questions, complaints, and feedback positively.
  • Basic IT confidence – prepared to use retail POS and inventory systems.
  • Teamplayer mindset – willingness to collaborative and support colleagues.
  • Resilience – ability to maintain excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical readiness – comfortable standing for long periods and lifting medium-weight items.
  • Availability – able to commit to the part-time rotating shifts listed above.
