Customer Assistant (Food Section) - Marksf & Spencer
Work Pattern Week 1
- Wednesday: 14:00 – 22:00
- Saturday: 14:00 – 22:00
Week 2
- Sunday: 07:00 – 16:45
- Wednesday: 14:00 – 22:00
Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour (increasing to £13.41 per hour from 1st April 2024)

Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Serve customers efficiently at the shop floor and service points
- Provide proactive recommendations, understanding customer needs and elevating the shopping experience
- Uphold five-star service standards, reflecting a brilliant brand legacy
Retail Operations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-stocked store
- Monitor and achieve daily sales targets, promotions, and growth opportunities
Digital Engagement
- Utilise digital tools like the Sparks App and in-store devices
- Enhance customer experience through seamless digital service
Team Contribution
- Maintain a positive, high-energy team atmosphere
- Be flexible and adaptable to varying store demands
Key Accountabilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Efficiency: Serving customers in a fast and friendly manner
- Stock Management: Ensuring shelves are fully stocked and well-organised
- Sales Targets: Driving performance through promotions and customer engagement
- Product Expertise: Confidently promoting M&S Food products
- Digital Training: Leveraging retail tech innovations to improve service
