Customer Assistant - Food - West Cornwall

Customer Assistant (Food Section) – Marks & Spencer

We’re looking for resilient, passionate and high-energy individuals to join our team as Customer Assistants in the Food section. This is a frontline role where you’ll be at the heart of our fast-paced retail environment, making a real impact every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Package up and sell a wide range of M&S Food products, from make & bake to premium selections—helping customers discover new favourites while delivering exceptional service.
  • Work fast-paced, high-pressure shifts, ensuring we meet strong customer demand with agility and precision.
  • Provide digital-enabled service using tools like our Sparks App and in-store devices to streamline customer experience, reducing wait times and improving satisfaction.
  • Support customer recommendations and upselling by sharing product insights, driving sales and fostering brand loyalty.
  • Be adaptable, acting as a team leader on some days to support colleagues and maintain a seamless, positive working environment.
  • Cover multiple store sections, from food prep to customer checkouts, helping drive growth during busy periods.
  • Embrace a greener, more digital future as we transform our operations—helping customers discover eco-friendly and innovative products effortlessly.

  • Sunday: 06:00–11:00
  • Monday: 05:00–10:00
  • Friday: 05:00–10:00
  • Saturday: 05:00–10:00

Week 2

  • Sunday: 06:00–11:00
  • Wednesday: 05:00–10:00
  • Friday: 05:00–10:00
  • Saturday: 05:00–10:00
