Customer Assistant (Retail) Formerly known as Lidl Customer Assistant

Everyone who works at Lidl brings something unique to the table—but we also have a whole lot in common. We’re collaborative, determined and we all pitch in to help each other out. Just like you.
About the Role
As a Lidl Customer Assistant, no two shifts are the same. From restocking shelves to managing tills, you’ll keep moving, help drive sales and never be bored. You’ll take pride in ensuring the store remains clean, tidy, and organised, working closely with colleagues and delivering exceptional customer service. Your role will range from answering customer queries, processing deliveries, and maintaining fresh food sections—especially assisting in the bakery and non-food aisles.
Beyond that, we believe in giving back what you take: a competitive hourly pay ($14.45 at full rate, £2.00 extra for bank holidays, £3.50 extra for nights) and a generous benefits package—because we support your well-being and career growth every step of the way.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
