Customer Assistant - Market Street & Cafe

Market Street & Café Team Member - Join Our Friendly & Hands-On Team

**We’re looking for friendly, hands-on people to join our Market Street and Café team, preparing and serving the fresh, high-quality food we’re known for.

--- About the Role

From serving delicious meals in our Café to mastering our signature pizzas, fresh fish, or premium meats on Market Street, you’ll play a vital part in creating a special experience for our customers every day.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, structured environment with clear routines—timed activities ensure everything runs smoothly so customers can always find what they need when they need it. You’ll also be cross-trained in key areas like Replenishment and Customer Service, so flexibility and teamwork are your strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving fresh, high-quality meals, pizzas, fish, and meats in both the Café and Market Street section.
  • Working efficiently in a structured, fast-paced environment with clear processes.
  • Supporting Replenishment and restocking tasks to keep the store organised.
  • Providing friendly, efficient customer service to resolve queries and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Cross-training: Working across multiple departments to adapt and grow within the team.
  • Following health and safety, hygiene, and food handling standards at all times.

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Energetic and hands-on—someone who loves being actively engaged with tasks.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a busy, structured environment.
  • Safe and precise when using equipment—strict adherence to processes is key.
  • Team-focused—ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues in a fast-moving setting.

  • Candidates must be over school leaving age (requirements may vary by role—some positions require aged 18+ for health and safety reasons).
