About the Role

Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in Operations, the behind-the-scenes powerhouse ensuring our stores run smoothly. This physically demanding, high-intensity role demands agility, speed, and a no-nonsense attitude – if you thrive under pressure and keep pace with retail’s relentless rhythm, this is your opportunity to step up and contribute at the heart of store operations.


Work Pattern

This role requires early morning shifts, with the following schedule:

  • Sunday: 06:00 – 10:00
  • Wednesday: 04:30 – 08:30
  • Thursday: 04:30 – 08:30
  • Saturday: 04:30 – 08:30

+Unsocial Hours Premium

An additional allowance of +£3.00 per hour will be applied only for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stock & Delivery Flows:

    • Master behind-the-scenes logistics for efficient stock management and delivery tracking.
    • Ensure timely availability of all products, maintaining shop-floor readiness.
  • Physical & High-Intensity Work:

    • Handle storage, stock movement, and delivery duties with urgency and accuracy.
    • Adjust to rapid pacing and meet retail demands, flexible to reallocate as required.
  • Digital & Operational Expertise:

    • Confidently utilise digital tools for tracking deliveries, inventory reports, and ordering processes.

  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate across store functions; initialing, coordinating, and supporting wider teams.
    • Act as an adaptable, reliable associate—supporting colleagues during peaks or understaffed periods.
