Job Summary
Join Marks & Spencer (M&S) as a Customer Assistant in Operations—the behind-the-scenes force driving our stores. Prepare for a fast-paced, physically demanding role, ensuring stock flows efficiently, deliveries hit targets, and every shopping experience runs seamlessly.
You’ll move with purpose, effortlessly switching between deliveries, stock checks, and digital tools to keep operations sharp and high-performing.
Key Responsibilities

Stock & Logistics:
- Manage stock receipt, distribution, and organisation to maintain optimal levels on the shop floor.
- Coordinate deliveries—ensuring accuracy, speed, and timely receipt of goods.

Digital & Operational Fluency:
- Use digital tools to track inventory, deliveries, and stock availability with precision.
- Updating systems in real-time to reflect stock levels and product movement.

Physical & Team-Oriented Work:
- Work autonomously or as part of a team across the store (including warehouses, entrances, and high-activity zones).
- Adapt swiftly to changing priorities—shifts may require early/mid-late stocking, sorting, or preparation tasks.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet store demands during busy periods.

Core Requirements & Skills
✅ Physical Stamina: Ahead-forced, fast-paced environment—ability to lift, carry, and move stock (minimum 18+"). ✅ Attention to Detail: Accuracy in stock management, deliveries, and recording details is non-negotiable. ✅ Digital Competence: Confident with retail-specific software, spreadsheets, and real-time updates. ✅ Team Player: Works collaboratively across teams to support overall efficiency. ✅ Flexibility: Eager to adapt to shifting tasks, conditions, or peak demands. ✅ Customer Focus: Align stock operations with customer experience and summer retail goals.

Work-Related Incentives
- +£3.00/hour unsocial pay during late-night (22:00–24:00) to early-morning (00:00–06:00) shifts (when applicable).
