Operations Assistant (Customer Assistant in Operations)

About the Role

Join our team at Marks & Spencer as a Customer Assistant in Operations. You’ll be the behind-the-scenes powerhouse responsible for keeping our stores running efficiently, ensuring stock is managed, deliveries handled, and the shop floor stays fully operational. This is a physically demanding, high-intensity role that demands speed, accuracy, and a commitment to fast-paced retail operations.

Work Pattern

This role operates with the following schedule:

  • Sunday: 16:30 – 20:30
  • Wednesday: 18:30 – 22:30
  • Thursday: 18:30 – 22:30
  • Saturday: 18:30 – 22:30

⚠️ Age Restriction This role involves late-night working (post-22:00). Therefore, we cannot consider applications from anyone under the age of 18. This compliance is necessary to adhere to health and safety legislation and ensure a safe working environment for our colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock and Delivery Management: Manage and coordinate stock to ensure availability for customers. Handle deliveries with precision and efficiency, ensuring the right products arrive on time.

  • Behind-the-Scenes Retailing: Perform essential behind-the-scenes operations that keep the shop floor smooth—involving physical tasks like product arrangement, stocking, and clean-up.

  • Retail Flexibility: Be prepared to assist across various store functions as required. Adapt quickly to meet operational demands, whether during early morning deliveries or later, high-paced stocking hours.

Benefits and Perks

  • Unsocial Hours Pay: An additional £3.00/hour premium will be included for any hours worked between 22:00–06:00.
