Customer Assistant in Operations – Operations Team, M&S

Role Overview

Join our team at Marks & Spencer as a Customer Assistant in Operations, the backstage powerhouse of our stores. This is a physically demanding, high-intensity role that keeps our stores running seamlessly. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and work relentlessly, this could be your opportunity to thrive in fast-paced retail operations.

Your core responsibility? Maintaining stock, deliveries, and behind-the-scenes workflows that ensure our shop floors stay full, clean, and ready for customers. Precision, speed, and adaptability are your compass—keeping products moving with urgency and accuracy hour after hour.

You’ll be a flexible, digitally confident team player, collaborating across functions and locations to meet operational demands.


Work Pattern

Week 1

  • Sunday: 05:45 – 12:45
  • Thursday: 04:30 – 12:30
  • Friday: 04:30 – 12:30

Note on Premium Pay: A +£3.00/hour unsocial premium is added only to hours worked between 22:00–06:00.


Requirements

  • Age: Must be 18 years or older for health and safety compliance.
  • Essential skills & traits:
    • Physical stamina for a high-intesity role.
    • Speed and accuracy in stock and delivery handling.
    • Digital proficiency in using tools for stock tracking and delivery coordination.
    • Teamwork and adaptability to support cross-functional store operations.
    • Agility to respond dynamically to shifting demands (e.g., early deliveries, late-day stock adjustments).
