About the Role
£13.45 – £14.45 per hour | 35-hour contract | 30-35 days’ holiday (pro rata) | 10% in-store discount | Pension scheme
At Lidl, everyone brings their unique strengths—just like you. We foster a culture of collaboration, determination and support. No two shifts are ever the same; as a Customer Assistant, you’ll stay active while keeping our store running smoothly.
You’ll deliver exceptional customer service, restock shelves, assist at tills, manage bakery restocking—all while maintaining a clean, organised environment and using your initiative. We’ll reward your dedication with a competitive salary, plus extra pay for bank holidays (£2.00/hour) and night shifts (£3.50/hour).
Beyond serving customers, you’ll have opportunities to progress—train to be a Freshness, Non-Food or Bakery Specialist, and even climb further with the right ambition.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
