Customer Category Manager – Wholesale & Convenience
(Fixed Term Contract, up to 12 months) Business Area: Nestlé UK&I – Confectionery Location: York Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2–3 flexible days a week at the office
About the Role
Join Nestlé Confectionery, a forward-thinking team known for its globally loved brands. As a Customer Category Manager (Wholesale & Convenience), you’ll develop and execute customer category plans to drive long-term growth, align with retailer needs, and enhance market share. This is a dynamic role reporting to the Customer Category Lead, focusing on partnership with key accounts in wholesale and convenience.
● Work with well-known, iconic confectionery brands dedicated to creating the best-tasting, permissible treats for consumers ● Operate in a supportive category team that prioritises clear communication and ambitious strategic collaboration
Your Responsibilities
Your core focus will be delivering tailored channel and category plans while building strong relationships with partners at a strategic level:
- Develop & deploy channel and category plans (including point-of-purchase solutions) to drive category performance and market share for Nestlé—ensuring impartiality with customers
- Build external relationships by becoming the go-to confidant for Buying/Merchandising/Ranging Teams with action-driven insight, recommendations, and trusted advice
- Execute Nestlé’s category strategy, adapting to retailer needs while fostering engagement and commitment
- Implement Point of Purchase (POP) Vision to enhance in-store adjacency and flow, aligned with ‘Perfect Store‘ principles
- Drive data-backed retailer influence and best-practice execution (both online and offline)
- Understand shoppers and evolving store formats to optimise category relevance
- Monitor competitive activity to maintain strategic alignment with evolving market demands
- Collaborate internally with NPD and brand teams to ensure solutions mirror customer/consumer needs

Success Will Be Characterised By
This role thrives on commercial acumen, analytical strength, and a culture of proactive innovation:
- FPMCG category experience (proven delivery in roles where categories drive outcomes) and expertise in influencing across internal/matrix/retailer partnerships
- Analytical fluency—skills to transform complex data into actionable insights and growth stories that yield ROI
- Ability to strategise category plans and articulate value within a fast-paced environment
- Resilience and adaptability—face challenges with creative problem-solving; thrive in ambiguity
