Customer Data Architect
Looking for a Highly Skilled Enterprise / Domain Architect
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise / Domain Architect to provide dedicated architecture leadership across a number of strategic transformation programmes.
Key Focus Areas The successful candidate will work as a key member of programme teams, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to:
- Define target architectures
- Support technology selection
- Guide implementation approaches
- Ensure solutions align with wider enterprise strategy
This role will initially support programme delivery and involve participation across critical architecture phases, including:
- Discovery
- Design
- Procurement
- Selection
- Implementation
Position: Hybrid role with the possibility of occasionally travel to programme-related locations as needed. Priority will be placed on actively participating in customer data transformation initiatives, including:
- Customer Data Foundations
- Customer View Capabilities
- CRM Integration
- Customer Data Platforms
Key Responsibilities
As an Enterprise/Domain Architect, you will:
- Lead architecture direction for customer data transformation into targeted areas of focus.
- Define current-state and target-state customer architectures.
- Develop approaches for consolidation, customer data integration, and enhanced customer insights.
- Support in the creation of customer data models and establish designated ownership principles.
- Collaborate deeply with data governance, data engineering, CRM, marketing, product, and technology teams.
- Define and evaluate architectural options, recommendations, and decision-guiding insights.
- Assist in roadmap development and phased implementation planning.
- Oversee and establish architecture governance across the programme and broader customer domain.

Successful candidates must be able to deliver a comprehensive architecture-oriented portfolio, including:
- Current-state architecture documentation
- Target-state architecture blueprints
- Customer data architecture blueprints
- Solution designs for all key programme phases
- Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Comprehensive contribution to the customer data model and roadmap development.

- Operating approaches for Data Governance and Compliance

- Proven collaboration with Data Engineering teams and governance functions.
- Proven ability to influence business and technology stakeholders.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, we seek candidates with the following skills:
Core Skills & Experience
- Extensive Enterprise or Domain Architecture experience.
- Deep expertise in retail business capabilities and technology landscapes.
- Competent experience within complex transformation programmes.
- Hands-on experience supporting procurement and technology selection processes, including:
- Request for Information (RFI)
- Request for Proposal (RFP)
- Comprehensive technical assessments
- Vendor evaluations
Strategic Understanding
- Ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear and relevant business outcomes.
Soft Skills and Delivery
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Confidence in challenging vendors to guarantee informed decision-making processes.
- Proficiency operating seamlessly between strategic and granular technical levels.
- A proactive, pragmatic, and delivery-focused approach.

Reporting and Collaborative Work

Engagement Details
This position began as a contracting opportunity designed to support strategic transformation delivery. In accordance with this arrangement:
- You will need to visit the London office on a regular basis (1-2 days per week).
- The initial contract engagement spans 6 months, positioned outside of IR35 compliance.
