Our Customer Delivery Drivers are the face of Tesco, delivering our commitment to customers across the UK, from Lands’ End to John O’Groats.

Tesco will schedule your contracted hours within these times with 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. If your availability aligns closely but not exactly with these windows, we encourage you to apply.
Pay & Working Hours
- Starting pay: £14.18 per hour
- Increased pay for stores within the M25: £15.45 per hour
- Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We guarantee minimum 16 hours per week and offer opportunities for flexible hours down to 12.
Responsibilities
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for:

Delivering a seamless shopping experience by:
- Entrusting the neatness and organisation of the van and trays.
- Ensuring the back yard remains clean and litter-free.
- Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.

Efficiently loading the van, ensuring it is roadworthy and meets safety standards.

Handling customer needs with professionalism, including:
- Communicating any order changes (e.g., short code items, substitutions).
- Offering refunds when necessary for customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring customers aren’t charged extra for substitutions.

Delivering with precision, including:
- Arriving on time for customer time slots.
- Calling customers before arrival if you’re early.
- Notifying the store/centre if you are 30+ minutes late.

Taking pride in your work by treating products and deliveries as your own.
Requirements
This role requires:
- Enthusiastic, customer-focused attitude with a warm and welcoming personality.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A flexible, proactive approach to meeting the needs of our customers.
- Energy and dedication to exceed expectations while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- A willingness to share ideas on improving customer service and store operations.
Essential Qualifications & Compliance:
- A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Automatic or Manual) held for at least 12 months.
- No more than 3 penalty points on your licence.
- Ability to adhere strictly to GB Domestic Driving Rules.
