The Customer Difference
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Customer Delivery Driver, you’re the face of Tesco on the move, travelling from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Your role:
- Stays customer-focused
- Involves life-changing interactions every day—you’ll help people rather than just drive
- Is hands-on, physical, and ever-changing—no two days are the same
You’ll also enjoy autonomy during your shifts, delivering to your customers while receiving unwavering support from our team of Managers and colleagues back at base.
Tesco offers an opportunity tailored to stability, flexibility, or career change—and we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
As a Customer Delivery Driver, your responsibilities include:
- Delivering customer orders:
- Ensuring your van and trays remain clean, organised, and tidy.
- Maintaining the back yard clean by clearing rubbish and picking up litter.
- Preforming tray washing appropriately.
- Verifying the safety and roadworthiness of the delivery van before every shift.
- Handling customer interactions:
- Talking to customers about order changes, substitutes, or refunds.
- Explaining that no extra charge will apply if a customer accepts a substitute item.
- Calling customers if you’re arriving earlier than their slot.
- Notifying the store/centre if you’re 30+ minutes late.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
