About the Role
South-west England • Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat 08:00–23:00 • Sun 08:00–23:00
Our Customer Delivery Driver role starts at £14.18/hour, rising to £15.45 for stores within the M25. A minimum of 16 guaranteed weekly hours is our standard policy, though flexible arrangements (minimum 12 hours/week) are also available.
This role is all about being the face of Tesco, delivering exceptional customer service with every visit. Each shift is unique—there’s no routine—offering hands-on work that helps people daily.
Responsibilities
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will:
- Ensure vehicles and equipment remain clean, organised, and roadworthy, including washing trays and clearing rubbish.
- Load vans efficiently and deliver orders within customers’ scheduled time slots.
- Communicate clearly with customers about order changes, substitutions, or refunds, emphasising that substitutions won’t cost extra.
- Call customers before arriving if delivery is early and notify stores of significant delays (30+ minutes).
- Treat deliveries as if they were your own, addressing any issues with care and professionalism.

Requirements
To succeed, you’ll need:
- A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) with at least 12 months’ validity and no more than 3 penalty points.
- Strong customer service skills: building rapport, responding flexibly, and embodying warmth, professionalism, and adaptability.
- Ability to work both independently (e.g., delivering orders) and as part of a team with active problem-solving.
- Willingness to embrace change—customers’ needs evolve, and so do our practices.
- Collaboration spirit: sharing solutions with managers, colleagues, and customers to enhance service quality.
