Customer Delivery Driver – Tesco
About the Role
This role is about delivering more than shopping orders. As a Customer Delivery Driver, you’ll build relationships, bring warmth and energy, and ensure every customer feels valued.
Availability Window
You must be available to work between:
- Sunday: 08:30 – 18:30
- Monday: 08:30 – 18:30
- Saturday: 08:30 – 18:30
Shifts are scheduled within these windows, with 3 weeks’ notice of your allocated shifts. Flexibility is encouraged, so if your availability is close but not exact, we still welcome applications.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you’ll ensure seamless delivery experiences while maintaining high service standards:

Safeguarding Service Quality:
- Keep the van and trays clean, organised, and free of equipment.
- Wash trays as part of the required process.
- Ensure the back yard is always clean and litter-free while delivering.

Van & Order Management:
- Load the van properly and check its roadworthiness before driving.
- Handle customer order changes (including substitutions and refunds) with professionalism.

Customer Relationships:
- Phone the customer before arrival if early.
- Notify the store if shifts run over 30 minutes behind schedule.

Requirements
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Holds a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (automatic or full) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Operates within GB Domestic Driving Rules.
- Demonstrates warmth, customer-centric attitudes with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Committed to flexible working hours that fit within our schedules.
- Prioritises safety and customer satisfaction above all else.
