About Tesco Customer Delivery Driver Role

As the Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you’re much more than a driver—you’re the face of Tesco on the road. Your role is about helping people, ensuring great service, and always putting a smile on the customer’s face.
Every day is different:
- Hands-on & physical: Full of variety and never monotonous
- Independence: Spend much of your time alone delivering goods
- Supportive team: Backed by managers and colleagues at base 24/7
Pay & Working Hours
Starting pay is £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 per hour in stores within the M25. Some locations may provide additional payments. Minimum guaranteed hours per week: 16, though roles starting from 12 hours per week are also available.
Responsibilities
Vehicle & Order Safety
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised van, working area, and trays so orders are delivered in perfect condition.
- Load and check the van safely to ensure it is roadworthy, reliable, and ready for smooth deliveries.
Customer Communication
- Help customers understand order changes, substitutions, or short-dated items with a friendly, reassuring approach.
- Offer refunds if needed to uphold a seamless experience.

Licensing & Driving Criteria
- Hold a full or automatic UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months.
- Have no more than 3 penalty points on your license.
