Customer Delivery Driver
Location: Varied Tesco delivery locations Availability Window:
Daily schedule ranges (indicated times are approximate and may vary by location):
- Monday: 13:00 – 18:00
- Tuesday: 08:00 – 12:00
- Wednesday: 09:00 – 19:00
- Thursday: 19:00 – 23:00
- Saturday: 19:00 – 23:00
(No shifts on weekends, except Saturday deliveries as above.)
As the face of Tesco on the road, our Customer Delivery Drivers meet customers in their homes every day. This role is about so much more than driving—it’s about helping people and delivering great service with a smile. It’s a hands-on, physical job full of variety, where no two shifts are the same. You’ll work independently for much of the day, with support from a friendly team of managers and colleagues based at HQ.
About the Role
- Start: Salary of £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 within the M25 in eligible locations (payment agreements vary by area).
- Guaranteed: Minimum 16 hours per week (roles from 12 hours also available).
- Ready to deliver experiences your customers will love.
Responsibilities
Your tasks include:
- Maintain safety & standards — Keep your van, trays, and workspace clean, organised, and pristine, ensuring deliveries arrive in perfect condition.
- Safety checks — Load the van safely and complete thorough pre-delivery safety checks to guarantee it’s roadworthy and reliable.
- Customer service with empathy — Listen carefully to customers about order changes or issues. Offer refunds or substitutions quickly, with reassurance and positive attitudes to keep the experience smooth and appreciated.
- Handle orders as your own — Deliver with care, ensuring every product meets customer expectations.
- Adaptability & commitment — Genuinely help customers by delivering within promised time slots and gracefully solving problems when needed. Provide a natural, warm presence to leave a lasting positive impression.

Requirements
Be equipped to:
- Build team spirit — Foster strong relationships with colleagues to deliver excellent service to Tesco’s customers.
- Display warmth & empathy — Offer a friendly, welcoming approach for both customers and team members.
- Adapt quickly — Respond to customers’ needs on the go and be open to spontaneity in your deliveries.
- Meet vehicle criteria — Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
