About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you'll be the friendly face of Tesco, delivering shopping across the UK from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Your role goes far beyond driving—it’s about creating genuine connections with customers and providing exceptional service.

Your pay rate will start at £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on your location.
We guarantee 16 hours per week for all new colleagues but are also happy to accommodate requests for as few as 12 hours. We provide 3 weeks’ notice for scheduled shifts and pride ourselves on flexibility, so feel free to apply even if your availability closely matches ours but not exactly.
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Deliver customers’ orders by ensuring:
- The van and trays are kept clean and organised.
- The back yard is tidy and litter-free.
- Tray-wash duties are completed.
- Load the van efficiently, ensuring roadworthiness and that all deliveries are accounted for.
- Engage with customers to handle any order changes, substitution requests, or refunds clearly and amicably.
- Convey substitutions at no extra cost and maintain customer satisfaction through great communication.
- Adhere to delivery time slots, calling customers if arriving early and the store/base if running 30+ minutes late.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old (for evening/morning shifts or specific roles like driving).
- Must hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for 12+ months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Ability to comply with GB domestic driving rules.
- Must be physically capable of handling deliveries and organising workspaces.
- A customer-focused attitude: friendly, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Ability to work independently while occasionally collaborating with managers and colleagues back at base.
