Customer Delivery Driver – Waitrose & Partners
About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll deliver the highest standard of Waitrose produce and Partner-led service straight to customers’ doorsteps. Our ethos is simple: passionate Partners serving food lovers.
Daily Responsibilities
- Starting in store, you’ll:
- Review and plan your daily delivery routes.
- Load and prepare your chilled vehicle for deliveries, ensuring orders are organised for efficient, type-safe servicing.
- Perform vehicle safety checks, complying with health & safety, road tax and maintenance standards.
- Act as a brand ambassador, embodying Waitrose’s commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Build strong customer relationships through trust and attentive service—helping shoppers with orders and queries.
- Support the store team with stock replenishment, housekeeping, and operational tasks.
This role supports the smooth, welcoming operation of our store while balancing delivery duties. Compensation includes £14.31/hour (start rate) plus:
- Night Premium: £3.75 extra per hour for shifts 22:00–06:00 (applies to all eligible Partners).
Minimum Age for active work: 18 years.

Key Essential Skills & Experience
- Valid full UK entitlement to drive (manual only) with a B-category licence and no more than 6 penalty points.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a warmth-driven approach to encouraging repeat business.
- Strong time management with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Physical capability: lifting crates, moving stock cages, and navigating active store environments.
- Self-motivated work ethic with reliable, efficient drivingColumbia for independent operation—no logbook required for this role.
- Basic IT skills: operating till systems, smartphones/tablets, and digital order-handling software.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in refrigerated vehicle deliveries (care/hygiene handling of food goods).
- Prior roles providing customer-facing service in retail or logistics.
Role Details
- Location: Sidmouth – Waitrose & Partners, Stowford Rise, EX10 9GA
- Contract Type: Part-time (15 hrs total) – rotating Sunday & Monday shifts, 06:00–22:00.
- Closing Date: July 4, 2026.
- Level: Partner Level 10.
