Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

Customer Delivery Driver – Waitrose & Partners

North Walsham, Norfolk

About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll deliver our signature Waitrose quality—great produce and exceptional Partner-led service—directly to our customers’ doors while embodying our ethos: "Passionate Partners serving food lovers."

Your day will mix on-the-road deliveries with behind-the-scenes shop support:

  • Internally: stock replenishment, housekeeping, and ensuring smooth shop operations.
  • Deliveries: loading vans, making customer service your priority, and returning for return/fault fulfilment.

Key Perks:

  • Contract includes base pay + £3.75/hour premium for shifts between 22:00–06:00.

Age Requirement: Must be aged 18 years or older.


Key Responsibilities

Your typical day includes:

  • Preparing for deliveries:

    • Checking your route for the day.
    • Loading and validating the van—packing procurements for correct, time-efficient deliveries.
    • Completing vehicle safety and compliance checks.
  • Driving & Customer Service:

    • Being a brand ambassador—customer service #1!
    • Assisting with shopper needs, helping them find products, and building trust through exemplary service.

Requirements & Experience

Essential

✔ Full valid UK B-Category manual driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points). ✔ Excellent customer service focus. ✔ Strong time management and multitasking skills. ✔ Ability to carry out physical tasks—lifting crates/cages, navigating cramped spaces. ✔ Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently. ✔ IT-literate.

Desirable

✕ Experience in a driving or transport-based role. ✕ Knowledge of chilled vehicle operation is a bonus.


Role Specifications

📅 Closing Date: July 7, 2026 (Apply early—high volume may close earlier). ⏲️ Hours: Part-time, 20 hours, flexible shift pattern (early starts, evenings, and weekends). 💰 Pay: £14.31/hour (base). 🏢 Location: Waitrose & Partners, Cromer Road, North Walsham, Norfolk, NR28 0NB. 📊 Job Level: Partnership Level 10.
