Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant
About The Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing our unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Embracing our ethos —passionate Partners serving food lovers—you’ll ensure a great experience for every customer.
In-store support is also key. When not delivering, you’ll reinforce efficiency by assisting with daily tasks including:
- Stock replenishment
- Housekeeping
You’ll contribute to a thriving team by maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment. Due to role requirements, you must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
Your typical day begins in store, with gateway responsibilities including:
- Route planning & checks: Reviewing daily delivery routes
- Van preparation: Loading and verifying orders for efficient, seamless deliveries
- Vehicle safety: Ensuring the van meets all UK road compliance, health & safety regulations
- Brand advocacy: Delivering Waitrose brand standards with exceptional customer service
- Customer engagement: Assisting with in-store shopping, fostering rapport through trust and high-quality service
- Team support: Assisting with general shopkeeping tasks when required
Essential Requirements
- Full valid UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Strong customer service skills—proven ability to meet customer needs
- Time management skills—efficient task prioritisation
- Physical capability to handle routine duties (e.g., crate lifting, cage management)
- Self-direction & adaptability—comfortable working independently while remaining motivated
- IT proficiency—ability to use digital systems with ease
