Customer Delivery Driver – Waitrose
About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose’s exceptional produce and Partner-led service straight to customers’ doors, embodying our ethos: "passionate Partners serving food lovers". While on the road, you’ll ensure superior customer service, and when back in store, you’ll assist with stock replenishment, housekeeping, and maintaining an efficient, welcoming team environment.
Age requirement: Applicants must be 18+ to qualify for this role.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll start each day in the shop, ensuring the following tasks are completed:
- Review and plan your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your delivery van, grouping orders for efficient sequences.
- Conduct pre-delivery safety checks on your vehicle, ensuring full road compliance and health & safety adherence.
- Represent the Waitrose brand with exceptional customer service—building trust and rapport with shoppers.
- Assist customers with their shopping experience where needed.
- Support the shop band with general tasks when required (e.g., stocking, tidying).

Essential Skills & Experience
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A full valid UK manual driving licence (B-category), with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent customer service skills and a dedication to delivering outstanding service.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities.
- Physical robustness to handle tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
- The ability to work independently with self-motivation and adaptability.
- IT literacy for administrative tasks.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in a commercial driving role—especially with chilled vehicles—is a plus.
