Customer Development Executive

Customer Development Executive – Britvic

Location: Benfleet & surrounding areas

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)

Salary: £30,000 basic + 20% bonus

In this role as Customer Development Executive, you’ll help grow Britvic’s market share of the soft drinks category within your designated territory. As part of a friendly yet high-performing team, you will drive sales across an exciting portfolio that includes Pepsi Max, 7Up, Lipton, Tango, Robinsons, Rockstar, Carlsberg, 1664, Poretti Beer & Jimmie’s. Your success will come through ensuring our brands have maximum availability and visibility in Independent and Convenience stores.

Experience preferred:

  • Previous experience in Convenience, Business Development, or FMCG sector.

Field Requirement:

  • You must hold a valid manual driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you'll do as part of the team:

  • Work closely with your Regional Sales Manager to:
    • Maintain face-to-face contact with existing retailers.
    • Explore and establish new business opportunities.
    • Develop a territory-specific business plan aimed at maximising sales growth.

  • Partner with our customers to:

    • Build outstanding relationships in Convenience stores.
    • Understand retailer needs and local consumer insights.

About You

We’re looking for someone who embodies the energy of hands-on, passionate team players who can deliver results and exceed targets. preferably with experience and enthusiasm for Direct Sales, Convenience, or FMCG. Here are the defining traits we will nurture:

  • Desired Talent & Skills:
    • Fun, driven, and commercially minded – enjoy being the go-to person for client relationships and new business.
    • Direct sales experience preferred in Convenience or FMCG.
    • Entrepreneurial in spirit: thrive on initiating innovative strategies and maintaining customer relationships.
    • Interpersonal skills – strong communicators with engaging presentation capabilities.
    • Negotiation prowess: skilled at making a compelling case for brand sales and promotions.
    • Presentational skills: confident in presenting your insights and winning approvals.
    • Adept at organization and administration: keeping track of sales, contacts, and objectives.
    • Self-starter: motivated to take initiative.
    • Proficiency in IT and social media — starting with managing digital presence and tools.

  • Essential Technical Requirements:
    • Full Manual Driving Licence (no more than 6 penalty points or previous bans): mandatory for field visits.
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
    • Proximity to Benfleet: willing to live within a 60-minute commute.
