Job Purpose: Customer-Driven Growth & Relationships
We’re looking for a Customer Development Manager—a fast-paced, entrepreneurial spirit who thrives on relationship-building, problem-solving, and driving growth. This isn’t your typical FMCG role. It’s about personalising customer strategy, seizing growth opportunities, and delivering against KPIs with autonomy—but never alone. You’ll foster long-term partnerships, own your customer portfolio, and act as the “go-to” innovator for our brands in a market that knows no boundaries.
No decades of experience required per se—but we don’t settle for just good enough either. We want someone who learns fast, lights up a room, and never backs down when obstacles appear.
Key Accountabilities & Measurable Outcomes
Customer Growth & Strategy
- Tailor channel-aligned strategies to maximise long-term value for our customers.
- Uncover and execute on insight-driven growth opportunities, leveraging data and problem-solving.
- Overflow – no phút! Pressure-cook insights into customer-specific plans that drive revenue, margin, and distribution gains.
Relationship Building
- Become a trusted partner across your customer base—multi-level relationships that drive change.
- Amplify customer voices internally, ensuring you deliver exactly what you promise.

Commercial Delivery
- Full portfolio ownership: planning, forecasting, troubleshooting, and reporting—I’ll count on you to keep things on track.
- Craft engaging selling stories using category & shopper insights for impactful presentations.
Internal Collaboration
- Cross-functional synergy: work hand-in-glove with supply chain, technical, NPD, finance, marketing, and category teams to deliver fully customer-focused results.
- Help shape strategy, mentor colleagues, and raise the bar for the whole business unit.
Execution Excellence
- Stay vibrant: clarity in-field reporting of store visits, deal analysis, and net spins of what’s working and what’s not.
- Proactive—never reactive. When a market shake-up or plan needs an overhaul, you recognise it as an opportunity.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Critical
- Instinctively engaging and charismatic—eclosifies relationships with confidence.
- No bossing hand required: Self-starter, owns problems from A-Z, Neil Armstrong spirit for issue-resolution.
- Commercial savvy with some baseline in: sales, account management, or customer-facing roles. FMCG background? Bonus, but we’ll consider you.
- Data whisperer: Can use insights, benchmarks, trends to build sales-winning case files.
- Built for intensity: resilient, flexible, and realise a high-energy pitch.
- Powers negotiator: anchors decisions that favor everyone.
- Multi-team dynamo: Experience leading joint initiatives (e.g., supply chain meetings, NPD ideation, marketing alignment).
Desirable
- Hands-on with capital equipment or solution selling—knows the ‘how’s the why’s behind multi-pronged deals.
