Customer Development Manager
Job Title: Customer Development Manager
Location: Field-Based – Halifax & Skipton
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) – Full-Time (35 hours per week)
About Carlsberg Britvic Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK, home to some of the most iconic beers and soft drinks in the country. Our portfolio includes:
- Beer brands: Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti, Brooklyn, Hobgoblin, and Wainwright
- Soft drinks brands: J2O, Robinsons, Tango, London Essence, the Pepsi portfolio (including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea, and Rockstar Energy)
With six production facilities and 16 logistics depots across the UK, we operate on a strong national scale. Merging two historically independent businesses, our sole objective remains ensuring our team succeeds.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Customer Development Manager to:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance Carlsberg Britvic’s market position in your designated geography.
- Report to the Regional Controller while fostering growth in the Halifax & Skipton region.
Key Accountabilities
- Implement customer strategies to optimise:
- Total Volume, Net Replacement (NR), and Gross Profitalities (GP), with a focus on GP/HL margins.
- Drive profitability and distribution in new and existing accounts, maximising product throughput.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers, wholesalers, and stakeholders to:
- Create mutually beneficial business plans.
- Achieve sales and profit growth targets aligned with:
- Budgeted timeframes and regional objectives.
- Share range and distribution expansion.
- Develop 1–3 year account plans that generate bottom-up growth strategies, including:
- Strategy & tactical execution.
- Promotional programs tailored per customer.
- Evaluate investment and promotional activities using Value Management principles and tools.
- Manage and optimise:
- Debt risk and cash flow.
- Customer tracking via My District.
- Utilise Forecasting, Inventory, Trade (FIT) tools to:
- Generate plans that meet annual objectives.

Requirements & Attributes
Essential:
- Proven experience in developing cross-functional teams to execute customer-centric plans that deliver measurable results.
- Deep understanding of financial concepts, including:
- Value management across applicable channels.
- Collaborative mindset to create account plans, ensuring decisive execution of actions and tactics.
- Knowledge of all critical processes, from planning through to invoice receipt.
- Enthusiasm for growing brands and channels and delivering high service levels to customers.
- Strong sense of accountability for planning, action, and outcomes.
- Performance-driven mindset, able to:
- Meet demanding targets deadlines with passion for driving initiatives to completion.
- Adapt in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Resilient and solution-oriented to maintain focus and motivation under pressure.
- Passion for beverage products and reputation management.
