Application Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
- Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
- Experience engaging with, or presenting technical solutions to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders
- Active Security Check (SC) UK security clearance (or the ability to obtain it)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling technical solutions in one or more of the following:
- Infrastructure modernization
- Application modernization
- Data management
- Data analytics
- Cloud AI
- Networking & migrations
- Security
- Ability to drive the entire sales cycle, including deliverability planning and execution transitions
- Experience building long-term technical strategies to uncover new customer workloads
- Hands-on experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms
- Knowledge of security concepts, including:
- Encryption
- Identity management
- Access control
- Attack vectors
- Penetration testing

About the Role
The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) team empowers customers to innovate and drive business transformation—powered by scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions.
As a Platform Customer Engineer (CE), you’ll collaborate closely with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud for public sector customers. You’ll act as their primary trusted technical advisor, driving tailored solutions that address complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic technical account plans, supporting sales motions and targeted initiatives.
- Combine sales, architecture, and hands-on technical expertise to:
- Deliver compelling pitches, pilot demos, and in-depth workshops showcasing Google Cloud’s portfolio.
- Architect cross-pillar solutions, define technical wins, and ensure smooth transitions from proposal to delivery.
- Facilitate post-sales transitions, including pricing and handoffs to implementation teams.
- Continuously monitor project progress against delivery plans, providing post-sales support during ramp-up, migration, or implementation phases.
