Head of Customer Growth (Sales Manager – Team Leadership & Operational Excellence)
Location: Belfast (Office-based at least 4 days per week) Reports to: Head of Customer Growth
We’re seeking an experienced Sales professional with a proven track record in leading high-performing Account Executive and Inside Sales teams. This role demands player/manager expertise—balancing operational management, coaching, and strategic execution—while maintaining strong customer relationships and driving revenue growth aligned with business objectives.
About the Role
This is a leadership position with cross-functional responsibility, bridging strategic direction from senior management with day-to-day operational delivery. You will ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service, revenue targets, and continuous improvement in sales processes while supporting market dynamics through direct engagement with key accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and development for sales team members, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritises customer success and revenue growth.
- Lead performance management, including goals setting, feedback, and career development, to enhance skills and consistency across the team.
- Identify efficiencies and best practices, facilitating knowledge-sharing to uplift performance.
Revenue & Operational Excellence
- Own revenue and budget accountability, ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs are achieved.
- Oversee ** sales forecasting, performance metrics**, and financial reporting to align with business objectives.
- Implement process optimisation—ensuring workflows adhere to SLAs, customer satisfaction benchmarks, and internal quality standards.

Sales Execution & Partnership
- Act as a supportive bridge between senior stakeholders and the Inside Sales/Account Executive team.
- Manage campaigns in close collaboration with Account Managers, ensuring alignment and execution.
- Handle direct customer escalations, applying knowledge of key accounts to resolve challenges and reinforce service excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Account Management
- Customer Success
- Marketing (campaigns & lead generation)
- IT (data systems, workflows)
- Ensure alignment of data quality, operational processes, and CRM usage (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
What You’ll Bring
Core Competencies
- Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and grow staff through structured coaching.
- Operational Driven: High energy, resilient mindset to prioritise multiple tasks under pressure.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and service standards, including essential escalation resolution.
- Strategic & Analytical: Excel in data-driven decision-making, identifying trends and market opportunities.
- Commercial Judgement: Ability to balance customer relationships with revenue objectives.
Technical Requirements
- 3–5 years' management experience in a sales-specific environment.
- Team Leadership: Experience in managing Inside Sales or Account Executive teams (scalable or elective roles).
- Revenue Attainment: Proven record of drivIng team performance to targets and quotas.
- Coaching & Development: Hands-on experience in upskilling sales professionals.
- CRM Proficiency: Preference for Microsoft Dynamics but familiarity with other systems an asset.
- Office Suite Mastery: Excel proficiency for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
