Customer Operations Mooring Operative (2190)

We're looking for a safety-focused and motivated Mooring Operative / Linkspan Operator to join our Operations team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be at the heart of terminal operations, ensuring vessels berth safely, traffic flows efficiently, and passengers and freight move through the port safely and on time.

No two days are the same. You'll work alongside vessel crews and colleagues across the port to deliver a safe, reliable and world-class service. You'll be someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in working safely, and thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Safely mooring and unmooring vessels.
  • Operating linkspan equipment to facilitate the safe loading and discharge of vessels.
  • Marshalling commercial and passenger traffic within assembly lanes and loading areas.
  • Directing vehicles safely during embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Maintaining effective communication with vessel crews and terminal control

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
