Role Overview
Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Customer Propositions Manager to partner with a global banking organisation in shaping the governance, reporting, and delivery framework across their portfolio of customer proposition initiatives. This is a governance-led delivery role, ensuring that leaders and project teams operate with structure, disciplinary rigour, and consistent outcomes.
Key to the role is establishing operational clarity and accountability through:
- Aligning governance frameworks with client’s strategic priorities
- Coordination across portfolio-level initiatives
- Providing high-quality reporting for executive decision-making
- Driving consistency while balancing agility across multiple workstreams
Ideal candidates will have operational delivery experience within business management, PMO, or transformation environments—with proven ability to manage stakeholders, simplify complexity, and embed best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Accountability
- Establish and maintain structure, accountability, and escalation pathways across the Customer Propositions portfolio.
- Design and refine governance frameworks that meet compliance, risk mitigation, and business objectives.
- Track and maintain how applying governance rules manages stakeholder expectations while accommodating flexibility where appropriate.
Delivery Oversight
- Coordinate governance forums (e.g., Executive Steering Committees, programme delivery reviews) to ensure strategic alignment.
- Monitor delivery health—tracking risks, issues, dependencies, and progress—and escalate concerns proactively.
- Audit documentation—ensuring alignment with governance, compliance, and audit requirements.

Reporting & Leadership Support
- Produce clear, stakeholder-aware reporting (dashboards, briefing packs) that drives decision-making without overwhelming senior executives.
- Provide concise, actionable updates to leadership on stage-gate milestones and gātelling the why behind delay/momentum shifts.
- Maintain portfolios of projects to ensure interdependencies are understood, and no single “silver bullet” initiative holds the organisation back.
Process Efficiency & Improvement
- Review existing marching documentation for recurrent patterns, breaking progress paint sticking points.
- Introduce lubricating process improvements that streamline governance and delivery without sacrificing oversight.
- Champion lessons learned both project-specific and generic methodologies—teaching “what works and what doesn’t without a blult subjectively seeming warned”.
Continuity & Coordination
- Support project portfolio managers and stakeholders through route definition and tracking.
- Continuously align priorities with operating contexts (industry changes, internal client demands).
- Implement actionable measures that boost operational resilience and lessen desctoring repetition gaps or delays.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Qualifications
- Proven expertise in delivery management, PMO, business operations, or cross-organisation decision-making pipelines, within Financial Services or banking.
- Strong ability to produce executive-grade artefacts (governance bandwidth charts, risk registers, devlected work plans).
- Hybrid operational-extravivist grains skills—no history of pivots or commercial context shifts among change agendas.
- Proficient use of Microsoft tools (PowerPoint for governance packs, Excel for analysis, tracking risks/issues).
- Cross-platform stakeholders:
- Must be STPR—easy to partner with technical leads, project owners, finance teams, and executive leadership alike.
Technical Knowledge
- Experience implementing scalable governance, portfolio management, or governance PMO functions.
- Understanding of portfolio maturity models (advanced PMO approaches aligned to balanced scorecards).
- Optional—Agile/Scrum familiarity for waterfall or hybrid programmes, but fluency not mandatory.
- Sensible budget insight (flex spend related to portfolio-level governance and operational compliance controls).

Desirable Experience
✔️ Prior experiencel for customer propositions, progressive products, or transformational business関—shaping roadmaps or refinining operational aspects. ✔️ Operational NHS or banking HR-team proven executing strategy/delivery where regulatory steps must merge into commercial flow. ✔️ Ability to link schol adaptation practice to cost-benefit justifications. ✔️ Directscen knowledge of sector compliance—but reviewers will emphasize this only in cases where po review rigor joins in.

Further Notes
This role requires 100 percent teamwork make/span familiarity with modern tech tools (ideally overlaying productivity and project governance ones). We want a culture fit: someone passionate about helping complex programs and portfolios stick the landing successfully.
